Administrative Order No. AHS-2008-015

September 10th, 2008

Today I received a forwarded message with an attachment regarding the rules and regulations of riding motorcycles on highways.

While the intentions are good, there are one or two questionable points regarding the said rules and regulation.

The whole Administrative Order attached is as follows:

If you wanna ride...

July 9th, 2008

As of this posting, premium gasoline costs Php62.00 or about US$1.37 per liter. There's a rumor that it shall reach Php70.00 per liter. There's even a rumor that public jeepney fare would reach Php10.00 for the first 5 kilometers.

For the sake of practicality, some people are turning to riding motorcycles especially when going to work or even when going to school. The advantages in riding a motorcycle on your way to work or school are:

  • You can go to anywhere, anytime.
  • You can zip in and out of traffic.
  • You can park when there's a tiny bit of space available.
  • As a light vehicle, you spend an average 45 kilometers per liter or about a day to two days worth of travelling back and forth to home-office-school.

Gassed Up

July 3rd, 2008

Talking about gas prices, last time I gassed up, Caltex Silver was around Php59/liter (US$1.32 at Php44.50/USdollar). Now it's around Php60/liter (still US$1.32 at Php45.35/USdollar). Luckily, my ride is a Japanese surplus Suzuki Carry: a 2WD dropside/pickup type with 3/4 canopy, 660cc 3-cylinder 12-valve engine, with 13-inch tires.

I average about 25- to 30-kilometers of daily travel from the house, going to the office, fetching my kid, sometimes doing groceries, going around downtown Bacolod.

Goodluck to a good friend ED2K

July 3rd, 2008

Two weeks ago, I received a private message from TAPGSM.COM.PH about my good friend ED2K.

He's fine actually, in good health, but a bit down in spirit.

Ed Meijia is the founder of TAP (The All-Pinoy GSM ) GSM Forum and popularly known as ED2K since year 2000. Thus "2K" in Ed2K, as in Ed-2000. As years goes by, he is known as Ed2k1 (Ed-2001), Ed2k2 (Ed-2002), etc. ED2K is one among the forerunners in the realm of the then 2nd generation GSM cellphone world. He was among the respected forumers of the then most popular German-based GSM Forum. Ed2k became the first very well respected Filipino moderators of the GSM Forum.

Okey, so this is my first post. Using b2evolution, that is.

I think this is my 4th domain overhaul. First, I was using old school html, using MS Frontpage. Second, I switched to Wordpress. Third, I switched to Joomla CMS. Fourth and hopefully last, b2evolution v2.4.2 "Palms" release.
